The Foundation will notify applicants by mail when their applications are received. In addition, it will send written notice of the Distribution Committee’s decision on each application within three weeks after the meeting at which the application is reviewed.

NOTE: The application deadline for requests for funding of educational programs that operate during the subsequent school year for K-12 schools is February 1.

* (Click here for more information about the Educator Initiative Grant [EIG] Program, a separate grant-making program only for K-12 teachers, teaching teams and school-based initiatives.)

This deadline must be observed not only by school districts, individual schools and groups applying for grants on behalf of schools, but also by all nonprofit organizations that are seeking support for the types of programs described above.

For example, the following applicants should submit their requests by February 1:

  • Organizations that provide tutoring during the school year to help students meet state-mandated academic standards
  • Arts organizations that work with or through schools to provide students with increased exposure to and appreciation for the arts
  • Organizations that make field trips, or other off-campus programming designed to expand students’ educational experiences, available to K-12 schools
