The GAR Foundation awarded grants totaling $6,854,556 to 101 non-profit organizations in 2007. The funds were distributed across GAR’s four major areas of priority. Once again, funds for education-related grants accounted for the highest percentage of total funds distributed this past year. This pattern reflects the Foundation’s recognition of the importance of education—particularly Pre-K--12 education—in sustaining our community today and for the future.
Grant recipients over the past two years used GAR funding to support their operations, deliver valuable programs and services, provide need-based tuition assistance, pursue capital projects, and increase endowment. In the pages that follow, we list GAR grants awarded in 2007, according to the Foundation’s four major areas of giving.
