About GAR

Eligible Organizations

Priority is given to grant requests from Summit County organizations. GAR Foundation only considers applications from organizations within Summit County or secondarily from adjoining counties (Cuyahoga, Medina, Portage, Stark and Wayne).

GAR does NOT make awards to:

  • Individuals
  • Private, non-operating foundations
  • National organizations
  • Hospitals or their affiliated foundations, except for collaborative efforts permitted under the law and designed to reduce costs and promote efficient delivery of medical services
  • Organizations that have not been recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code unless they have an appropriate fiscal sponsor and adequate accounting procedures
