Eligible Organizations

Traditionally, the Foundation only considers applications from organizations within Summit County, Ohio, or, on a secondary basis, adjoining counties (Cuyahoga, Medina, Portage, Stark and Wayne). Priority is given to requests from Summit County organizations. On rare occasions, the Foundation awards grants to organizations located outside this six county area.

The Foundation, however, does not make awards to individuals.

Other organizations the Foundation does not award grants to are listed below:

Private, non-operating foundations
National organizations
Hospitals or their affiliated foundations, except for collaborative efforts which are permitted under the law and are designed to reduce costs and promote efficient delivery of medical services (please click on guidelines for health care systems for our complete policy)
Organizations that have not been recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code unless they have an appropriate fiscal sponsor and an adequate accounting procedure
