FAQS - How to Apply
< Back to FAQS
Can I submit a paper copy of the application form? Or, do I need to use the electronic submission system on your website?
GAR Foundation no longer accepts paper versions of our online application form. You need to use the online system accessible from our website. If you have problems accessing the web, or need help in completing the application, please call our offices and we will be glad to help.
Can I send my application by email?
GAR uses an automated on-line application that you submit electronically. Once you are in the application section, you will be able to click on a "Submit" button, and it sends your application and attachments electronically. (You can save your application as a document and email it separately, but only if there is a problem with our system and you have contacted our offices for assistance and we have approved this submission. We have not experienced problems with this feature, however.)
Attachments may be: submitted as attached/uploaded documents to the on-line application, either as a .pdf, or Word document; delivered via U.S. Mail; or hand-delivered to our offices by the appropriate deadline date. But the application itself must be submitted online.
What time on the deadline date is my application due?
Applications are due in GAR offices by 5 p.m. of the deadline date. Due to the large number of applications we receive, we cannot accept late applications.
What if the application deadline date falls on a Saturday or Sunday?
If the application deadline date falls on a weekend, then your application is due in our offices by 5 p.m. of the Monday following the deadline date.
What are the dates of your Distribution Committee meetings?
The GAR Foundation Distribution Committee meets four times per year in February, May, August and November. Applicants are notified by phone or email of the Distribution Committee´s award decisions within 24 hours of the meeting´s end. Written notification is also provided within one week of the meeting.
