Steve Wilt is a seasoned institutional retirement-plan advisor based in Akron, Ohio. He joined CAPTRUST in 2009, founding the firm’s Akron office, and since then has provided investment-advisory services to fiduciaries of corporate retirement plans, as well as endowments and foundations.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (International Marketing) from The University of Akron and has earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation through the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Throughout his career, Steve has been widely recognized for his leadership and expertise. His team was named “Retirement Plan Advisor Team of the Year” by PLANSPONSOR magazine in 2007. He was inducted into the Plan Advisor Hall of Fame in 2011 and honored as CAPTRUST’s “Financial Advisor of the Year” in both 2011 and 2016.
In addition to his professional work, Steve is deeply committed to civic and community service. He serves on multiple boards and invests time and energy into nonprofit and community organizations — helping them fulfill their missions and build capacity. Steve also is the chair of the CAPTRUST Inclusion and Diversity Council and the creator and host of the CAPTRUST / Workplace Alcohol Free Challenge.
He and his wife Holly live in West Akron and have two children, Charlotte and Charlie.
